By all accounts, the Public Library Association meeting last week in Indianapolis was a great time. It takes a few days to recover from having so much fun, but I want to say what a pleasure it was to meet and talk with librarians (and one Friend) from around the country and even around the world (Singapore).
Indy Library Store held a two-day Open House for attendees interested in book selling. We had guests from the whole range of public libraries, tiny to multi-branch, and it was interesting to compare experiences. Most were in the “curious but still thinking about it” phase but several were ready to take the plunge and had lots of good questions for us.
It’s not much of a sample, but, clearly, online selling is an opportunity still waiting to be grasped by most library fundraisers. It’s fun, doable, and profitable. I hope we encouraged a few to give it a try.
(There are a couple of photos from the Open House on our Facebook page.)
